While reading the September issue of Label & Narrow Web magazine, I stumbled upon a short article discussing Fasson’s latest eco-friendly wine paper.  And, this got me thinking about MaverickLabel.Com’s green initiatives.

The casual observer may not notice - or even care about - Maverick’s eco-friendly / green initiatives.  However, we take this subject very seriously and have been an eco-friendly company for several years now.

Maverick offers several label products (Process Color Labels, Bumper Stickers, Product Labels, Unusual Shaped Labels, and more) on a special, environmentally conscious film called EarthFirst®.  The EarthFirst® film is constructed from a Polylactic acid (PLA) made from corn, an annually renewable resource.  This permanent adhesive substrate has excellent slip characteristics, high natural dyne levels and excellent scratch resistance. EarthFirst® PLA Film is a viable alternative to petrochemical based films. The high initial tack of the adhesive to low surface energy polyolefins makes it an ideal solution for blow on applications.

In addition to our eco-friendly line of label paper / film, Maverick also has initiatives in place to reduce paper consumption, by going to a fully digital / paperless workflow process.  Maverick has already reduced the internal order processing output requirements from 4-5 pieces of paper in year’s past - down to 1 or none in most cases today.  Our goal is to have the entire internal process reduced to a 100% zero paper output within the next 10-12 months.

Additionally, Maverick’s online proofing options save not only trees, but time for the customer.  An innovator in the online label proofing arena, Maverick has long been a pioneer in the use / development of cutting-edge technologies.  And, we plan to continue being a leader in the advancement of new technologies for the label printing industry - as well as in the use of eco-friendly papers, inks, and glues.
